Mentally challenged students at P.S. 811X rushed to hospital

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and 13 children were rushed to the hospital Wednesday following a party at P.S. 811X, a special education school for mentally challenged students.

The 16-year-old boy is accused of adding Hennessey to the punch at a party honoring the students of the school for their good behavior. School officials called EMS after a student told a teacher the punch tasted like liquor. Students were then rushed to St. Barnabas and Lincoln hospitals.

The Department of Education is reporting that no one was seriously injured and that the boy has been charged with reckless endangerment.
