Homeless man arrested in attempted abduction in University Heights
A homeless man has been arrested in the attempted abduction of a 5-year-old girl from a University Heights school Thursday.
Police say 50-year-old Carlos Negron tried to take the girl from inside the cafeteria of PS 33, the Timothy Dwight School. They say the child screamed when Negron approached her and a school aide questioned him before he fled.
Parents are concerned about how Negron was able to get inside the school. Negron has been charged with attempted kidnapping, criminal trespassing and acting in a manner to injure a child.
