Bronx residents commemorate the life of Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was a small woman who had a huge impact on civil rights. Bronx residents learned of her accomplishments Saturday by watching a film honoring her memorable life.

Participants who attended the event, which was held at M.S. 113 on Barnes Avenue, watched ?Eyes on the Prize,? a film highlighting the struggles and accomplishments during the Civil Rights Movement. The film also emphasized the life of Parks, who jump-started the fight for black equal rights 50 years ago on December 1.

The event was hosted by City Councilman Larry Seabrook (D-Bronx).
