Bronx seniors attend informative session on Medicare

Some Bronx senior citizens attended an information session in Belmont Tuesday explaining the different components comprising the new Medicare Part D program.

The session explained the plan?s benefits and helps seniors pick the right plan conducive to their needs. Seniors learned that under the new program and dependent upon their income and marital status, they might be eligible for free or low cost prescriptions. However, seniors say with so many options, the plan can be overwhelming and confusing.

The meetings are part of 12 sessions being hosted by Senator Jeffrey Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester). The next forum will be held December 7 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Barnabas High School.
