Bronx residents warned of phone card scams

Popular phone cards being sold in the Bronx may be a rip off.

The Bodega Association says customers should be on guard for cards featuring pictures of Hispanic Major League Baseball players. They say the cards are falsely advertised. The cards say that there is no connection fee, when in fact there is. They say customers are also being shortchanged on the amount of minutes that are on the cards.

The Bodega Association says it is working with Major League Baseball to find out who, if anyone, licensed the pictures.
