Bronx residents opt for healthier foods

Bronx residents have proven that if they are given the opportunity to eat healthier they will.

Over the last month, bodegas have stocked their shelves with healthier food items such as low-fat milk and produce items. The healthy food campaign began last June when Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrión jr., requested restaurants in the borough offer healthier menu items to help fight obesity and diabetes.

Bodega owner Pedro Moncion tells News 12 The Bronx that he is making more money now that his store sells more produce and low-fat milk.
