Wake held for NYC officer killed in the Bronx

A wake was held Monday for the New York City police officer killed in the Bronx.

Officer Daniel Enchautegui, 28, was off duty when he was killed trying to stop a burglary outside his Pelham Bay home. Officials say before Enchautegui was killed he managed to shoot both of the suspects, 48-year-old Steven Armento and29-year-old Lillo Brancato Jr. He is the second officer to die in the line of duty in two weeks.

Meanwhile, both Armento and Brancato remain hospitalized in critical condition and are expected to live. Armento faces first and second-degree murder charges. Brancato faces second-degree murder charges.

Enchautegui?s wake will be held at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home. Public visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
