More mailing options offered to Bronx residents

Bronx residents have more options when it comes to sending out their mail after the Grand Avenue post office began offering 24-hour access to its automated postal center.

The machine lets Bronx residents customize mailings, buy stamps and look up zip codes. Residents can follow the instructions in either English or Spanish and it's also handicap accessible. Post office staff says it's the fastest way to send mail this holiday season.

The postal service recommends residents send their mail before December 19. On that day, they expect to handle more than 280 million pieces of mail in the city.
