Bronx bars, clubs to quiet down as City Council approves new noise code
Many residents will soon be sleeping easier as Bronx bars and nightclubs will soon reportedly be forced to quiet down.
According to the New York Times, the City Council approved changes to the city?s noise code, including tools to help the NYPD enforce it. Under the new code, bars and clubs would have to keep the noise level below 42 decibels. The new code would also crack down on barking dogs, overnight construction and nighttime garbage collection.
The new noise code is scheduled to take effect in July 2007.
