Bronx borough president sworn in for second term

Bronx borough president Adolfo Carrion Jr. was sworn into office for a second term Thursday.

During his first term in office, Carrion says he worked to improve economic development. One of Carrion?s projects was the creation of a task force to shut down what?s widely known as "Hot Sheets Motels". A little more than two years ago, News 12 The Bronx was there when the NYPD raided the Holiday and Andrea Motels, where two women were arrested for prostitution. However, Carrion?s plans to turn the Bronx Terminal Market into a shopping center generated controversy with some business owners and residents.

Carrion says he will spend the next four years making the Bronx a better place to live, work and do business. He will deliver his State of the Borough Address on January 3.
