Bronx residents come together for annual menorah lighting

Bronx residents came together Wednesday on the fourth day of Hanukkah for the annual menorah lighting ceremony at the Bronx County Building.

Members from local synagogues and churches discussed the need for all people to come together regardless of faith. The deputy counsel general of Israel and Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrión Jr. also spread a similar message. A member of the Hispanic Israeli Young Professionals program, which is a program designed to unite the Hispanic and Israeli cultures, also said a few words. A children?s choir sang and a menorah was lit in and outside the building.

After the menorahs were lit, Carrión was named an honorary rabbi.
