Landlord, tenants of Leland Ave. building in Parkchester battle over roof

The landlord of a building on Leland Avenue in Parkchester and the tenants have been battling over roof problems for several weeks.

Debra and Francisco Serrano say there has been a hole in their bedroom ceiling for two weeks. They claim they tried to warn the landlord there was water leaking but she didn?t fix it. But the landlord, Margie Floyd, say she has been trying to fix the roof for months.

Floyd says rent money will pay to fix the problem, however, she claims the Serrano?s owe her at least $7,000 in rent. Floyd adds she has hired a roofer to fix the problems. The roofer says the problem is not the roof, but rather the walls, which will be fixed in a few weeks.
