Firefighters are calling a three-alarm fire that evacuated hundreds of Bronx residents Sunday morning suspicious.

Fire officials say the fire began in a garbage shoot of a building on Gerard Avenue. Officials say the fire quickly spread to the roof and top floor. Eight apartments were damaged by the fire.
