Two-alarm fire in Bronx house leaves one person dead

A two-alarm fire in a Bronx home left one person dead and a family-home destroyed Monday.

The fire began on the second floor of a two-story house on Revere Avenue. Firefighters battled the blaze, which spread throughout the whole house, for several hours. John Pye, 71, was unable to escape the flames. However, Pye?s wife, son and brother made it out unharmed.

Neighbors in the building next door were forced to evacuate. Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
