Mott Haven teacher accused of striking middle school student with book
? A Mott Haven middle school teacher is accused of throwing books at her M.S. 203 class to get them to behave. Instead, one book allegedly hit a girl in the face.
Guadalupe Nieves says she no longer feels safe sending her 13-year-old daughter to school after teacher Vicki Salter hurled a book that struck the teen on February 15. Nieves also says the school stopped her daughter from immediately calling home. Salter was still teaching until the Department Of Education (DOE) removed her from the classroom on March 10.
According to the DOE, the science teacher does not have a history of misconduct. School officials continue to investigate the incident.
