The two men accused of killing an NYPD officer in the Bronx appeared before a judge Monday.
Lillo Brancato Jr. and Steven Armento are accused of killing officer Daniel Enchautegui in December while breaking into a house looking for drugs. Police say Armento is the one who fired the shot that killed the officer. Both have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, burglary and weapons possession.
Armento's lawyer says the case has gotten so much attention that he wants to see a gag order issued. While Brancato's attorney, Mel Sachs says his client's celebrity is overshadowing the facts in the case. He plans on making a motion to get some of the charges against his client dismissed and ultimately he'd like to see the cases tried separately.
