Shooting in Bedford Park sparks fear among residents

Residents in Bedford Park say they are afraid for their families after witnessing a shooting Thursday night on the Grand Concourse.
Many who live near 198th Street and the Grand Concourse say they watched in horror from their windows while two women were shot. They say they hear gunfire all too often and sometimes are forced to call 911. Police say it's impossible to follow up on reports of shots fired because there is no way of knowing where the bullets came from.
Neighbors blame the gun violence on rival gangs. They say the night of the shooting rival gangs clashed outside the Kennedy Fried Chicken.
The victims were a 17-year-old girl and 21-year-old woman. Both are in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
