According to the city?s school chancellor, sixth-grade is not too early to begin thinking about high school. The Department of Education is hosting information sessions for students and parents about the different high schools in the borough and the types of programs each school has to offer. Education officials say choosing the right school requires an understanding of the programs and the criteria for applying to the school.
A series of information sessions will be held for a few weeks. The sessions are geared toward sixth-grade students, but all middle school students can attend. The first session will be held Tuesday, May 2 at Lehman High School on East Tremont Avenue at 6:30 p.m.
