A fugitive from New York State?s most wanted list has been spotted in the Bronx in the last few weeks.
Sources say Francisco Santiago, 47, has been spotted at least twice around 174th Street and University Avenue. According to law enforcement officials, Santiago is wanted for a parole violation for an arrest in 2002 where he was convicted for possession of stolen property. Santiago, who also uses the names German Torres and Francisco Sonniel Valdez, was also convicted for raping a woman at knifepoint in the Bronx in 1986.
Law enforcement officials say Santiago has a scar on his right arm and a tattoo that says ?Sonny and Mary? on his left arm. They say once he is captured, he will be charged for not registering as a sex offender. Anyone with information is asked to call 800-262-4321.
