Abuse seminar held in Morrisania to help protect Bronx children

? Parents and community members attended a child abuse workshop in Morrisania Sunday to learn how to better protection Bronx children.
A presenter from The New York Foundling organization, which works to raise awareness, touched on several points at Saint Augustine. The group says parents have other options besides hitting their children and strangers can stop abuse by speaking up.
Parishioners who attended the seminar say they see signs of abuse daily. They include children not going to school, neglect and sexual abuse. Some feel the problem is people who are too young are having babies and lack the skills to raise them.
