Friday is the last day the Morris Park Catholic school Our Lady of Solace is open.
The New York Archdiocese announced in March that several Catholic schools and churches will be closed as part of a realignment plan. Archdiocese officials say Our Lady of Solace is closing because of its low enrollment. Students at any closing Catholic school in the Bronx are guaranteed a spot in nearby schools.
Our Lady of Solace students can be placed in Saint Dominic?s, Saint Frances Xavier or Saint Clare Assissi. Meanwhile, the Archdiocese will soon make the announcement of which Bronx Catholic churches will be closing.
