A Bronx native is coming home to play for Manhattan College after his Kentucky team released him from his scholarship.
Shagari Alleyne played center for the Wildcats for the past three years, but he averaged a disappointing two points and 1.3 rebounds last year. The 7-foot-3 player did manage 63 blocks over 68 games in the Bluegrass State. Alleyne will join new Head Coach Barry Rohrssen?s Jaspers after sitting out one year due to NCAA rules.
Alleyne was an All-City player in high school and led Rice to the 2002 Catholic League city title.
