Bronx residents get lesson in American flag etiquette
Independence Day is around the corner and for some Bronx residents it?s a time to pledge allegiance to the American flag.
Veteran Steve Concepcion says the flag should go up early in the morning and come down before dark, except when there is a light shining on it. The American flag should be folded into a perfect triangle without touching the floor, which will likely require two sets of hands. The flag should also be retired in a special ceremony when it becomes worn and frayed.
Bronx residents can take their old flags to any veteran?s association or government office to have the ceremony performed.
