Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found tied up Wednesday night in a closet at a Bronx shelter.

Police say the super at Stebbins Lodge located at 1391 Stebbins Avenue made the discovery after neighbors complained about a foul odor. The super notified authorities after finding the decomposing body of a 47-year-old woman, who lived in a single occupancy apartment at the shelter.

The medical examiner is now trying to determine how long the woman was dead and how she died. The woman's name has not yet been released.
