As the temperatures continue to climb in the Bronx and city, health experts are urging residents to keep cool and stay safe.
Forecasters are warning of a heat advisory and residents should be prepared. Cooling centers have opened throughout the Bronx and city for residents to avoid the heat. Health experts say people should know the symptoms of heat exhaustion, which include dizziness, nausea and muscle cramps.
Health officials say the best way to avoid heat exhaustion is to stay indoors. If residents must be outside, they are urged to wear light, loose-fitting clothes and to know their limitations. The Office of Emergency Management says residents should call 311 to find out where the closest cooling center is located.
