Bronx Boulevard residents without water after water main break

Approximately 1,000 Bronx residents are without water after a water main break on Bronx Boulevard Sunday.
One resident says he saw water coming through cracks in the road after the break and he tried to divert traffic before cars went into the hole. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) eventually found the break. DEP officials say because of its nature, they need to change an entire piece of piping to fix the break.
Meanwhile, other residents believe the area and the road are in desperate need of reparations. The DEP says the next step after fixing the break is for an emergency contractor to unpave the current road and lay down new blacktop.
