Bronx students must get chickenpox vaccine before heading back to school

The Department of Education is informing Bronx parents they may need to add immunizations to their children's back-to-school list.

Starting in September, the law requires students entering the sixth and seventh grades and those born on or after January 1, 1994 to be immunized against chickenpox.

Parents can call the city's information line at 311 for details.
