City gets average grade on Mayor Bloomberg's report card
While it didn?t get straight A?s, the city got average grades on Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s (R-NY) report card.
Bloomberg says most city services are improving from last year. Some areas that saw improvement were fewer homeless people on the streets, police and firefighters getting to emergencies faster and getting the rat problem under control. The report also found that the city?s 311 hotline saw a 14 percent increase.
While some services got better, the report found some services still need improvement. According to the report, street conditions are poor, homicide rates are up and the Administration for Children?s Services isn?t making it to as many complaints within 24 hours. City officials say the numbers in the report don?t tell the whole story, however the report is a sign that more needs to be done.
