(09/19/06) THE BRONX - Defending Bronx soccer champions Stevenson High School pushed their record to 3-0 with a win over Gompers High School Tuesday.
After losing in the city semifinals last year, the Stevenson team hopes to win it all in 2006. They helped their case by handing an overmatched Gompers team a 5-0 loss. Gompers goalie Angel Suarez stood on his head to keep the game from becoming a blowout, but Stevenson, who has not lost to Gompers since September 2003, took home the win.
In other news, Kennedy High School faced off against Alfred E. Smith High School. Kennedy dominated the entire match and defeated Smith 10-0.
