Bronx cyclists race to take part in the Tour de Bronx
The Bronx hosted the city's largest biking event Sunday, the Tour de Bronx.The tour, now in its 12th year, annually attracts over 3,500 cyclists. The cyclists ride by landmarks, the waterfront, Yankee Stadium, historic districts, and various sites along the Bronx Greenway path. Cyclists were able to choose either a 25-mile route or a 40-mile route. The theme for this year's tour was "FIT NOW." It promotes healthy living through exercise, nutrition, preventative health measures and access for all Bronx residents to quality health care.The tour ended at the Bronx Botanical Garden where cyclists got to celebrate their accomplishment with a festival.
