Stranded BX man spends Thanksgiving in Cablevision lobby
One Bronx man spent his Thanksgiving in the lobby of the Cablevision building in Soundview.
George Lopez says he had Access-A-Ride drop him off so he could take care of paperwork. However, Lopez says the bus drove away before he realized the building was closed for the holiday. The security guards in the building let Lopez in from the rain to wait for Access-A-Ride to return.
Lopez says he waited four hours for Access-A-Ride to pick him up. Access-A-Ride, a public transportation service for the disabled and elderly, says drivers who drop riders off are not required to pick up them up. Lopez says he blames himself for his bad day and plans to learn from his mistake.
