The Bronx Library Center in Fordham has been recognized for its environmentally friendly design.The U.S. Green Building Council presented the center with its Leed Silver Certification Plaque. The center's architect says recyclable materials were used for many of the floors and carpets. The library's president says everyone should feel responsible for improving the environment.Mayor Bloomberg's (R-NYC) office says the Bronx library is 20 percent more efficient than other similar buildings.
