Bronx building caretaker finds baby girl in garbage room
Police say a baby girl was found dead in the basement of a Bronx building on Willis Avenue Monday.
Residents say the caretaker heard someone dump the 2 to 4-month-old baby down the trash chute. According to authorities, the caretaker discovered the baby in the garbage room. Police say when they arrived the baby was unconscious, but by the time EMS arrived the infant had died.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. The baby girl is Hispanic. She was found wearing a pink hooded coat and white jumper. There is no word on whether the baby?s parents have been found or notified. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577 TIPS (8477).
