Bronx residents brace for big snow fall

As the first big snow storm makes its way to the Bronx, residents are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.Meteorologists expect the Bronx will be hit with one to three inches. Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NYC) says the city has prepared 1,000 sanitation workers, 2,000 plow trucks, 365 salt spreaders and 185,000 tons of salt. He advises Bronx commuters to take advantage of mass transit in the case of a storm. City officials are also working with Con Edison to prepare for any electricity problems that may occur. Con Ed workers advise Bronx residents to stay away from downed wires and to alert officials immediately. They encourage residents to stock up on batteries and check flashlights.
