Snowplowing makes travel impossible for Bronx handicapped

Handicapped Bronx residents complain the city cleared icy streets after this week's storm, but dumped the mess in their path.
Handicapped residents say they always feel forgotten during winter storms. They say piles of snow, like the ones near Manor Avenue and 173rd Street, make it nearly impossible to cross streets or maneuver around sidewalks. They say they are stranded and are unable to work. Nancy Leandro says the Department of Sanitation needs to be aware that although some people are confined to wheelchairs or must use walkers, they still have lives to lead.
Calls to sanitation officials were not immediately returned.
