Firefighters battling Cruger Avenue fire make gruesome discovery

Firefighters responding to a fire on Cruger Avenue Thursday found a man's body, sparking a homicide investigation.Firefighters say they found the body of the 58-year-old man in his apartment. Investigators later found a lighter and glove at the scene. They say the man was stabbed several times. Detectives believe someone set the victim's mattress on fire to hide the murder. No other apartments were affected.

Neighbors, who did not want to appear on camera, say people were always going in and out of the victim's apartment. They hope building cameras will lead to an arrest.
