A blaze that ripped through a Woodycrest Avenue home, killing nine people Thursday, sent several victims to Lincoln Medical Center.
Authorities say five children and one adult were rushed to the hospital where three of the children were pronounced dead on arrival. The young victims included twin 6-month-olds and a 3-year-old girl. The two remaining children, ages 5 and 6, and a woman are listed in critical, but stable condition.
Officials say the surviving children were first taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, which lowers carbon monoxide levels. The children were then sent to Lincoln Medical Center to recover. Officials say at least 17 people were injured in the blaze.
