Cardinal Hayes clinches Class 'A' championships over Mt. Saint Michael

Mt. Saint Michael Mountaineers were denied a repeat in the Class 'A' Catholic League Championships Friday.

Cardinal Hayes took home a close 49-48 victory over the Mountaineers in the finals. The two teams have butted heads all season, trading victories back and forth. Mt. Saint Michael served Cardinal Hayes a tough beating in early January, but Hayes battled back in February and walked out with a victory.

Cardinal Hayes' star Jeffrey Paulino scored 19 points and was named MVP.
