St. John downs Wings 59-50 in PSAL Semifinals
Wings Academy hoped for a win in their second-straight trip to the PSAL Semifinals, but St. John?s had other thoughts Two consecutive dominant regular seasons have resulted in impressive playoff runs by Wings. Last year, a disappointing loss to Grady in the semifinals put an end to the Wings season. This year, Wings took on St. John?s, who were up by 15 at the half. However, Wings regrouped and opened the third quarter on a tear with B.J. Warrington scoring two of his 12 points. Later in the quarter, an open Jabor Forde drilled the trifecta, capping a 12-0 wings run and cutting the deficit to three points. In the end, St. John?s put the game away 59-50. For the second-straight year, Wings lost in the semifinals.
