Bronx school to discipline gun-toting second-grader, says Dept. of Education

A Bronx second-grader faces disciplinary action from the Department of Education (DOE) after officials say the child brought a gun to school Monday.
According to the DOE, the 7-year-old's father came to pick him up around lunchtime at Public School 230. The principal questioned the student's classmates due to the father acting suspicious. The DOE says that's when students told the principal about the gun. Many parents say they aren't surprised because the school is plagued with problems.
While the DOE plans to discipline the child, the district attorney's office says it doesn't have enough evidence to prosecute.
