Stray bullet strikes Bruckner Expressway driver

(04/06/07) THE BRONX ? A Bronx resident claims he was struck by a stray bullet while driving on the Bruckner Expressway Thursday.

Manny Moreno claims he heard a crack, followed by a pain in his shoulder while driving on the expressway. According to Moreno, the bullet came through the hood of his car, struck his shoulder and nicked his neck. The location of the bullet hole led police to believe the gunman fired from the nearby Millbrook Houses.

Moreno was in the car with his girlfriend when he was hit. Although the two are shaken up, Moreno says things could have been much worse. He says a school was located nearby, but it was luckily not in session.

?Normally at that time parents are picking up their children?? said Moreno. ?It could have been them.?

No arrests have been made in the case.
