The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has tips for last minute Bronx tax filers that could make the tedius process a little easier.
Tuesday, April 17 is the deadline to file taxes.
IRS officials recommend electronically filing taxes as a quicker and more error-proof way. There are several ways to do so, including online using special software or through ?freefile,? a program on the IRS Web site. The IRS says the wait time for e-filers is half that of paper filers.
The IRS advises working quickly but not rushing. Rushing through the process increases the risk of error.
It also recommends double-checking personal identification information for errors and to be aware of Internet predators claiming to be IRS officials.
