It is demanding a repeal of vacancy decontrol and advocating the stronger enforcement of rent laws. The meeting was presented in both Spanish and English. It featured testimonials and performances to exhibit the plight of the tenants. Council member Helen Foster and state Senator Jose Serrano were among the notables in attendance.
