(05/21/07) THE BRONX ? The Grover Cleveland boys volleyball team upset sixth-seed JFK with a two-game sweep in the second round of the PSAL Boys Volleyball Playoffs over the weekend.
JFK, who won it all last year, has gone through the season with a bulls-eye on its back as everyone tried to down the defending champs. Despite only being down by four at one point in game one, 11th-seed Cleveland managed to take control and win 25-20. Mateusz Dembowski had 13 kills.
Strong play by Grover Cleveland in game two allowed them to go on to a 25-22 victory.
