BX baseball stars fall to BK in CHSAA Senior Classic

The Bronx high school baseball all-stars suffered a disappointing loss to Brooklyn players Monday in the Catholic League's A Division Senior Classic.

Just days after being drafted by the Dodgers, Hayes' Jonathan Gonzalez was the first pitcher on the mound in the game at St. John's University. Gonzalez fanned two in a scoreless inning.

Mount's Keith Malanga was up next on the hill. He also pitched a scoreless inning. The Archdiocese of New York team was down 12-0, but started to turn things around in the seventh inning.

Matt Walsh, of St. Peter?s, hit the ball to bring a player home and break the shutout. The rally wasn't enough.

The Bronx stars came up short, losing 12-3 to Brooklyn in the CHSAA Senior Classic.
