Bronx Week 2007 closes with a bang

Bronx residents say Bronx Week 2007 closed out with a bang with music, food, dancing and a parade.
The weeklong series of events honoring the borough, its people, history and future filled many Bronx residents with pride. They say it?s important to hold events like Bronx Week to remind people that the Bronx is here to stay and that it?s better than ever.
?It lifts the spirit of the community when you get people to come out to different parts of the Bronx and celebrate what it means to be a Bronx resident,? Councilman Joel Rivera said.
Residents said the events are about culture and fun. They said they join in on the activities to spend time with family and friends.
