BX Little League parents want end to truck traffic
Some parents say parking is becoming a major issue at a Bronx Little League complex.
The Astor Little League president claims illegally parked commercial trucks are taking over the area. He claims the trucks take up spots along Bruner Avenue and parents have nowhere to park, especially during games. He also claims the trucks sometimes hit and bump the cars on the side of the road.
The league president is now working with political leaders to try to make Bruner Avenue one way. He would also like to see angle parking on the street.
The Department of Transportation says making the road one way may not work because the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has a substation there and needs to be able to get down the road both ways. The league president says he would like to sit down MTA officials to work out a compromise.
