SUNY Maritime wins inaugural Clam Chowder Bowl
SUNY Maritime?s Privateers football squad kicked off their sophomore season with an away win and a new rivalry Wednesday.
The first-ever ?Clam Chowder Bowl? took place at Massachusetts Maritime Academy?s new field versus the Buccaneers. A strong first quarter saw the Privateers put 10 points on the scoreboard.
That first quarter was enough to defeat the Buccaneers, who only scored a touchdown and missed the extra point in the second quarter. Neither team scored in the second half.
By winning their opening match, the Privateers have tied last year?s win record.
