Bronx mom fed up with school registration process
Instead of enjoying her second week in school, one Bronx mom claims her daughter is sitting at home due to registration woes.
Yesenia Ortega says she has tried to register her daughter for school four times, but keeps getting the runaround at PS 54's registration site. She says each time she arrives at a school, she is told classes are full. Ortega says her daughter is registered at CS 211, but has had problems there as well.
Other Bronx parents say the only way to solve the registration problem is for the Department of Education to get involved. Ortega says she is going back to the PS 54 registration site to try and get her daughter into a different school.
Calls to the DOE and administrators at CS 211 were not returned.
