Bronx Community College officials announced plans to strengthen alternative energy research at the institution.Speakers at the third annual Alternative Vehicle Technology Conference said $15 million will be allocated for a sustainable business incubator in the Bronx.

The incubator will help companies incorporate more environment-friendly technology, according to officials. Administrators hope that students will benefit from involvement with the program.

Supporters of the announcement say the Bronx is a great location for this sort of program due to the borough's high levels of traffic and pollution.
